Steve Lavin to 2012!

The LA Times has reported that Steve Lavin has signed a contract with ABC/ESPN which puts him at the announcer's table until 2012. Hopefully this means Brent will be around at that long too. Speaking of Brent, apparently Steve considers him a mentor. I think Brent should train Steve to take over the role of insane announcer when Brent inevitably retires. Steve is already on the right path and has shown he has the natural talent to compete with Brent's hilarity. Steve can only get more insane as he gets older.

From the LA Times article: Steve's preseason top 5
1 North Carolina
2 UCLA
3 Louisville
4 Pittsburgh
5 Tennessee

College Football Live is Back...With Brent!

ESPN reported today that College Football Live returns on the 21st with the first 2 episodes hosted live by Brent Musburger. What a good deal for Brent. It's good to know that the networks still view him as a premier announcer who can capture the attention of America's sports enthusiasts. Since there's so much in the college football world to catch up on, Brent won't have too much time to mess around and make a fool of himself. Nevertheless, I wish I could quit my job so I can be around to watch the episodes.

Brent Emceeing the Big Ten Luncheon

Here's the latest in the Brent Musburger summer news from the Big Ten Network. Mark your calendars for Friday July 25 for what the Big Ten calls "The largest and most exciting preseason celebration of college football in the country." That statement is only true because our pardner, Brent, will be the emcee. The 2nd paragraph of that article does a good job of recapping Brent's illustrious broadcasting career without mentioning that he is insane.
